Briny Boom
I’m Dan Piraro, the creator of the Bizarro newspaper comic, and this is my weekly blog post. The large Sunday comic above is mine, as are all of the non-cartoon comments below.
Since January 2018, the Monday-Saturday Bizarro comics have been written and drawn by my comics partner, Wayno. For more fun, check out Wayno’s weekly blog post.
And here’s this week’s ANSWER KEY to my Sunday comic’s Secret Symbols.
Welcome to my secret comics lair, Jazz Pickles. Today’s comic is about terrorism, which is all too common and never funny, but it’s only a drawing of a slug, so I hope you can suspend your anxieties for a moment and have a chuckle.
The good news is democracy won huge victories last week in both Hungary and Canada, and fascism lost bigly. Hooray for humanity and planet Earth! We may be able to climb out of this MAGA grave yet.
On a more amusing note, last week’s post included a cartoon Wayno did about the comic-book-inspired fight noises that the 1960s Batman show employed, and I commented about how much I loved that show, and still do.
In response, a friend of mine for over 40 years sent me a brief video he concocted with a clip from the old Mod Squad show from the same era. He noticed how campy and fake a fight scene from that show seemed, so he did this…(it’s 40 seconds long with some punch lines at the end, so watch all the way through. Safe for work, a child’s birthday party, or the Rapture.)
Thanks to (L)SD, aka Little Stevie D, for this BOFFO vid!
Time now to explore the not-remotely-fake comedy of Wayno’s Bizarro comics from the week…
I’ve come close to being this bird’s roommate more than once, but I’m still hanging in there.
A scene from The Princess and the Vertigo.
Okay, boomer. The cops are on their way.
I wish I’d thought of trying this on my kids.
Snowmen and mushrooms, am I right?
If he loses this game, will he be fugue-ious?
Hey, this has been the most fun I’ve had since that last time I had this much fun. If you enjoy that we do this each week for free, please consider helping us keep it that way via the stuff below. We’ll like you a lot.
