You Again?
I’m Dan Piraro, the creator of the Bizarro newspaper comic, and this is my weekly blog post. The large Sunday Bizarro comic above is mine, as are the comments below. Welcome, Jazz Pickles. Some fun stuff to catch you up on today, then some truth, then more fun.
FUN STUFF #1: The online gallery that handles my Bizarro art is running a promotional auction until Tuesday, August 26. They have some of my original, hand-drawn cartoons from Bizarro, as well as some high-quality, signed and numbered, limited-edition prints of some of my favorite cartoons from my career. (A quick reminder that now that the newspaper industry is fading into the past, these kinds of things are how I keep supporting my cartooning habit, and paying Wayno to continue his.)
FUN STUFF #2: There’s a cool new site called Reckoner Press. They feature gloves-off, progressive political humor, and other various things. I’ve not read tons of their posts, but the ones I’ve read have been very good. Give them a look and see for yourself.
SOME TRUTH: This is a quick must-read by a multiple-award-winning journalist with 50 years of experience covering world events for two TV networks, who has authored two books and innumerable columns, and knows his shit. It’s a simple, two-minute read that will wake up anyone. Forward freely.
FUN STUFF #3: Saving the best for last, here are Wayno’s Bizarro cartoons from the week…
