Bizarro Sunday Punny #38

I’m Dan Piraro, the creator of the Bizarro newspaper comic. Each week, I post my Sunday Bizarro comic, a few words, and the past week’s Monday-Saturday Bizarro comics written and drawn by my partner Wayno, whose weekly blog post I highly recommend.

And here’s this week’s ANSWER KEY to my Sunday comic’s Secret Symbols.

————————————————————

Howdy, Jazz Pickles. Thanks for stopping by.

FIRST: There are only a few days left on an auction of some of my original Bizarro ink drawings and some limited-edition, signed and numbered prints. Have a look.

NEXT: The boring countdown to my exciting new project, The Naked Cartoonist subscription newsletter, continues as we attempt in vain (so far) to surmount the mountain of technical issues involved. We thought we’d be done and launched by now, but the Internet Gods are still being surly brats.

As soon as we conquer the chaos, I’ll feature some examples of the kinds of things you’ll be treating your see-balls to should you dare, and a link for signing up. Until then, we’ll just keep cursing, pounding our foreheads against our keyboards, and wondering how the world became so unnecessarily complex. (This is what happens when you let primates design and operate a society, I guess.)

But hey, in the meantime, we’ve got another installment of my Bizarro Sunday Punnies (BSP). I used to do these fairly regularly a few years back but fell out of the habit somehow.

IF YOU HAVE AN ORIGINAL PUN YOU’D LIKE TO SEE IN A FUTURE EDITION OF THE BSP, SUBMIT IT IN THE COMMENTS SECTION OF THIS POST. (Pun suggestions will not appear in the published comments.) The pun must be your original idea, as far as you know. You don’t need to suggest a picture to go with it but if you’ve got an idea, feel free to describe it. I’ll also need to know what name you’d like me to add to the bottom corner if I use your idea. BY SUBMITTING, YOU’RE DONATING YOUR JOKE IDEA WITH NO EXPECTATION OF COMPENSATION other than the potential joy of maybe seeing it in print someday.

This week’s BSP features 8 Secret Symbols (I hope I got the count correct, but there’s never any guarantee of that) and a handsome little self-portrait of yours truly in the upper right-hand corner. (For my octopus readers, it’s the upper right tentacle, second from the middle.) The portrait is fairly accurate, except that my head is not quite that large in relationship to my body, and I am not monochromatic.

Let’s move on to Wayno’s Bizarro cartoons for the week…

Wayno’s band released a new album recently and is looking for ears to hear it. In this week’s edition of his weekly cartoon blog post, he includes a sample song and a link to nab a copy of their new CD! Get yours today!

It’s probably where that creepy dude in the window lives.

Doc Martens boots are the most comfortable shoes I own, and I wear them exclusively when I leave the house. At home, I wear an off-brand version of Crocs, which I got from a Mexican grocery store. We’re not “influencers,” but Wayno and I will gladly accept a free pair of Docs for this unpaid promotion.

I’m not particularly alarmed by the apocalyptic wall we are racing towards and I’ll explain why in one of the future articles for my new subscription newsletter, The Naked Cartoonist. It might make you feel a little less anxious. (Yes, I’ve promoted this project twice in this post, but a lot of people don’t read all those scary words at the top without pictures or videos.)

Call me a speciesist, but no matter how cute or funny their videos are, I will not view this app.

Something tells me that when he gets to college, he’ll need a new wardrobe.

We now return you to your regular version of reality. Thanks for visiting ours. If you like that we’re still offering these cartoons for free, please consider helping us keep it that way via one of the links below. We’ll nominate all donors for one of our Golden Glob awards! (Not a typo.)

Until next week (or maybe sooner if I can get my damn newsletter project launched!), be kind to your kind and other kinds, too.
