Tomb of the Unknown Cat

I’m Dan Piraro, the creator of the Bizarro newspaper comic. Each week, I post my Sunday Bizarro comic, then a short essay, then the past week’s Monday-Saturday Bizarro comics written and drawn by my partner, Wayno whose weekly blog post I recommend highly.

And here’s this week’s ANSWER KEY to the Secret Symbols.

————————————————————

Hello, everypickle! This week’s Sunday chuckle-picture (above) is based on an idea from Wayno’s and my good buddy and fellow cartoonist, Jim Horwitz.

I’ve lived with quite a few felines over the years and I know from experience that you CANNOT leave mummies unattended when cats are around. They will unwrap it for sure, make a mess of the wrappings, and then completely forget what they were doing, wander off somewhere, and fall asleep for 72 hours.

JimmyHo, as I call him, is one talented mofo with plenty of mojo and you can follow his cartoon adventures on FB at WatsonComics.

If you have particularly good eyesight, you might notice a dog among the hieroglyphs in the lower, right corner. That’s his comic’s main character, and next to him, it says “Watson” in authentic, ancient Egyptian.

JimmyHo, Wayno, and I have had a lot of stupid fun at National Cartoonists Society conventions over the years. The photos below are evidence of some of that fun.

No cartoonists were injured during the staging of this photo.

No cartoonists were injured during this photo, either, but three of them had hangovers the next morning.

BTW: JimmyHo goes by Jim. Since Wayno and Piraro end in Os, I shortened Jim’s last name and jammed it onto his first so we could pretend to be musketeers. Friends can get away with these things.

Let’s transition now to seeing what Wayno got away with in this week’s Bizarro cartoons…

O, don’t be so negative.

But then I’d have to go back to sweeping my floors.

And that’s not water. It’s vodka.

I. Know. This. Person.

They know how to rock.

That concludes this week’s comedy allegory. Thanks for sticking around to clean up after the animals. If you like what we’re doing and that we offer our hard work for free without ads or clickbait, please consider helping us keep it that way via one of the links below. We will venerate thee in gratitude.

Until next week, take a moment to enjoy how perfectly adequate most things are.
