Deconstructing Hairy

If you had a food product that you were trying to market to the public, would you call it “shaved ice”? I would not. The word “shaved” invokes thoughts of hair, stubble, nicks, and cuts, not frozen treats. Hence, this cartoon.

Now, if you’re from Hawaii, you’re already screaming some version of, “It’s SHAVE ice!” I know. They call it shave ice in Hawaii. But most of the world doesn’t live in Hawaii and so should not have to suffer for Hawaii’s shortcomings in the area of verb conjugation.

Another one I don’t like is Spaghetti Warehouse. For those of you lucky enough to be from a place that does not have these things, it’s a franchise restaurant catering mostly to families. And I don’t get the name choice. A warehouse is a place where thugs in Tarantino movies kill people, it’s not where I want to eat. I also have no desire to dine at Taco Basement, Pancake Dungeon, or Soup Crawlspace.

I confess, I started writing another long, heart-felt philosophical essay for this week’s post, as I’ve been doing a bit lately, but it got too long and complicated so I had to put it aside. Most people don’t read those long entries, anyway, but I sincerely appreciate those of you who do!

Now let’s dive headlong into the humor pool that is Wayno’s Bizarro cartoons from this week!…

That’s nice but I won’t even look at a baby on IG with less than 75K followers.

And if she gives it up for adoption, it will spend 16 years in a drawer in someone’s kitchen.

Our constitution states that "the results of no coup will be honored unless the beneficiary of said action can both spell and pronounce it correctly." So we should be safe.

I find that keeping up with amazing new technology helps to distract me from the empty, hopeless feeling I get from using so much technology.

I confess that this one is too subtle for me but I love the Nancy-esque Bizarro Alien in the corner!

And, of course, the building will be full of interesting neighbors that you’ll never meet.

Don’t forget to check out Wayno’s comments on this same week of cartoons. He always has an interesting music fact or video at the end, so don’t miss it!

That concludes our plotless play in seven acts for the week, Jazz Pickles. Thanks for making it all the way to the final curtain! If you enjoy what we do and that we offer it for free, please consider donating to one of the links below. We’re currently donating half the profits from our shops to the NAACP Legal Defense Fund and the other half to my daughters till their jobs come back, so your dimes will be put to good use.

Until next week, be smart, be grateful, laugh about something, make something, don’t freak out.
